These venues offer an excellent selection of classic and signature cocktails (as well as non-alcoholic options), paired with stunning views of the Bangkok skyline. I’ve recently visited several of them, and here are my top recommendations:

• Sanctuary: Located on the 34th floor of the Intercontinental hotel on Sukhumvit Road, Sanctuary may not be the highest rooftop bar in the city, but its design is truly unique. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere instantly puts you in a holiday, and honeymoon, mood.
• Tichuca: Just across from Sanctuary is the famous Instagram hotspot Tichuca, located on the 46th floor. The bar features a striking design inspired by an octopus, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. That said, the overall experience can feel a bit like a tourist attraction. You’ll need to show ID to enter, place your order on the ground floor, and then follow a guided path upstairs, similar to moving through an airport.
• Le Du Kaan: This place feels like a serene escape above the city. Located on the 56th floor of EA Rooftop at The Empire, it offers beautiful skyline views and a calm, elegant atmosphere, especially on the open-air terrace. Created by Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn, the experience combines refined Thai cuisine with a spectacular setting, making it a memorable place to unwind and take in Bangkok from above.

Day 2: Bangkok temples, couples spa and romantic river cruise

Morning: Temples without the crowds

One of the must-see experiences in Bangkok is visiting its temples. I highly recommend going first thing in the morning, as they become very busy later in the day. The two temples you shouldn’t miss are:

• Wat Pho: Home to the famous Reclining Buddha, Wat Pho is located in the Old Town and opens to visitors from 8:00 AM.

• Wat Arun: In my opinion, this is the most stunning temple in Bangkok. It also opens at 8:00 AM and is easy to reach from Wat Pho. Simply head to Tah Tian Pier and take a short ferry ride across the river, the journey takes less than two minutes.

✹ My recommendation: Did you know you can book a professional photographer and enjoy a photoshoot in traditional Thai costumes? I haven’t done this myself, but I’ve seen many couples doing it, and the costumes are absolutely beautiful. It’s a lovely way to capture unique honeymoon memories and come home with special photos.
